Top 5 stretches for back pain & guess what I'm eating?!

Hello, beautiful beings! Happy Full Moon in Capricorn πŸŒ•

In 13 years of practice, I've seen my share of back pain, herniated discs, sciatica and hip pain. Many of these cases felt better with warmth and movement. This is no surprise, because in Chinese Medicine, we say that β€œwhere there is free flow, there is no pain; where there is no free flow, there is pain”.

Free movement of energy (Qi) through our meridians allows for optimal health, function and repair – and these meridian stretches are a great way to get things flowing!

Top 5 Meridian Stretches for Back Pain, Hip Pain & Sciatica

If you are experiencing any pain in the back or hips, gently mobilising the affected meridians is an easy way to move Qi and support healing. Just 10 minutes twice daily can make a profound difference – and you don’t even have to get out of bed! Bonus!!

You can also use these movements as maintenance, to keep everything mobile, free and feeling great!

We are energetic, electromagnetic beings, so making sure that our circuitry – our meridian network – is running smoothly and free of stagnation is a great way to tune up your energy daily. And these aren't just for pain - because these stretches free up the flow of Qi throughout the body, they support a range of important functions like:

✨ encouraging nourishment to old injuries, scars or pain points
✨ speeding the healing of any current injuries or pains
✨ fluid metabolism & structuring body water
✨ improving circulation
✨ connecting us to the etheric energy all around us
✨ supporting the optimal functioning of internal organs and body systems

The combination of breath, movement, soft intent and gentle awareness can also be profoundly powerful to shift the state of body-mind-soul. If your mind is busy or anxious, bringing your focus to your body and your breath, as in these stretches, can be a wonderful way to get grounded again.

Yin Yang landscape

Hello, beautiful beings! Today, we have the Full Moon in Pisces AND a lunar eclipse πŸŒ• As we step into this eclipse portal (the 2 week window between eclipses) it seems like a perfect time to ponder the interplay of Yin and Yang, dark and light. How do we embrace our shadows and depths within a culture that rewards the dynamic, bright, shiny, active and productive? How do we make space for Yin in a world that reveres the Yang? It's not all love and light While I’ll be the first to encourage...

Yin Yang fish, dance of life

Hello, beautiful beings! Happy Full Moon in Aquarius (tomorrow) πŸŒ• I have found myself having many conversations about Yin and Yang recently, which inspired this newsletter (and upcoming ones). Understanding how to harness the power of Yin and Yang offers us many ways to naturally and simply feel more vital, healthy and radiant. Read to the end for how you can tap into Yin and Yang in daily life. We've all seen the symbol, but what does it actually mean?!And how can we harness Yin and Yang for...

Liver, Spleen & Kidney meridians connecting feet to pelvis

Hello, beautiful beings! Happy Full Moon in Sagittarius (yesterday) πŸŒ• This month, I share a simple habit that can bust pain, ease periods and help to keep UTIs away. Maybe you are already on board and doing this?? And I also share on a topic that I feel particularly strongly about: the current reframing of perimenopause - a natural transition - as a pathology or problem to be solved (medicated). As a scapegoat for whatever is out of balance or calling out for healing. Maybe it's not...
